Hey,

I might as well do this for her. I’m pleased to inform everyone that Ashley Gordon, one of the hatlesslincoln photographers, just got a piece accepted into the National Portrait Gallery here in London. Most of you already know this, but it definitely deserves some attention so I needed to make a post about it. The picture is in her music section under Stag and Dagger (it’s photo number 12). The competition had over 6,300 images submitted by over 2,300 photographers. It starts November 6th and ends its run late-February in the National Portrait Gallery in London, before going on tour around the UK till Sept 2010.

Congratulations Ashley!

Hey guys,

About a week ago, I was down in Brighton covering the city’s annual festival, LOOP, for the blog Strange Glue. Ashley and I have been doing some work with them photographing various shows around London. I’ve bombarded my music page with uploads. Check them out.

Highlights from LOOP: check out the American band Solid Gold. They’re from Minneapolis and they’re great. Really good show and awesome sound.

Tunng was another great band (this one’s from England). Much more low-key, take a drive up highway one by yourself or play it on your ipod on a train sort of thing. Whatever you’re into.

Of course, Karin Dreijer Andersson, a.k.a Fever Ray, gave the audience a devilishly delightful glimpse into her Scandinavian imagination. With the sparsely lit stage and elaborate costumes, her performance proved more than just going to see another hyped band from Sweden (but all the hyped bands from Sweden are amazing, so what I’m I saying). Unfortunately, no camera’s were allowed. I tried my best to get some shots though.

Welcome to the new hatlesslincoln. As I’m sure you’ve noticed, the site has gone through a major redesign. Aside from the obvious visual change, several modifications have been made to how the site operates. They are:

The ‘meta’ information in the sidebar has been scrapped. Users can now log into the site and post new messages by clicking on the ‘edit’ link at the top right of the page.

The photo gallery has been updated and cleaned, so it should be more responsive. Additionally, comments have been disabled in the gallery. Spam was being posted on the comment fields, damaging the functionality of some pages.

New users are no longer given the permission to create new posts. They can immediately comment on posts, but must be given permission to have greater authority. A few people I did not know were creating new accounts. I’m sure the accounts are harmless, but the photo gallery was littered with thousands of spam messages. I don’t want that to happen to the blog.

Oh, and I’ve added an ‘About’ and ‘Video’ section to the site. Their intended purposes should be pretty self-explanatory.

I hope you guys like the changes. Please feel free to comment; and, of course, post.

viva la hatlesslincoln!

So, I bet you’re thinking: “how could I best celebrate the dawn of this new era?” Well, since you’re young and poor and probably can’t afford gold and/or arable land, you really couldn’t do anything. That is, until now.

I took the liberty to design some cool new stuff for you to buy, so even though you may be homeless and unemployed you’ll LOOK GOOD! Check it out.
